ERP modernization, legacy jewelry POS to D365 Business Central

About

An independent jewelry retailer runs on more than sales: trade-in intake, custom repair jobs, and insurance appraisals, all previously stranded in a legacy jewelry point-of-sale system with no unified inventory or financials, no self-serve reporting, and appraisal paperwork produced by hand. We implemented D365 Business Central across finance and inventory and rebuilt the retailer's jewelry-specific workflows natively inside the ERP: trade-in intake, custom repair-job costing, and insurance appraisal generation.

Results

Trade-ins, repairs, and appraisals now live in one ERP alongside finance and inventory. Intake forms, photos, and valuation are captured natively, materials and labor are logged against each repair job, and appraisal and insurance documents generate from Word templates and data merge rather than by hand. SKU labeling and barcoding bring jewelry stock under control, mobile clients and Power BI dashboards give anywhere access and reporting, and a customer portal adds self-service and document storage.
